Prompt: If you had to write a poem about your life RIGHT NOW, what would it be about? Explain your answer in at least 4 to 5 sentences.

If I had to write a poem about my life right now, it would be about trying to balance school, friends, and my own thoughts. It would show how some days feel stressful, especially with homework and tests, but other days feel fun and relaxed. The poem would talk about learning who I am and making mistakes along the way. In all, it would be about growing up and figuring things out one step at a time. Summary: Today in class, I took notes on how to write a rhetorical analysis and did two CommonLit passages. Reflection: Today in class, I learned how to write a rhetorical analysis.

Prompt: When you are in a mood that you do not like, what are some strategies that you use to change your mood?

 When I am not in a mood I like,  a strategy I do is listen to music. I do this because music calms me down and makes me more relaxed. I also like to read if I am not in a good mood. Reading keeps my mind occupied and engaged. These two strategies are what I do every time, it gives me a sense of relaxation and comfort. Summary: Today in class, I worked on the NewsELA. Prompt: Describe your personal approach to creativity. What steps do you follow when you’re working on a project. Tell me about a project you created that you were most proud of.

 My personal approach to creativity is to brainstorm, choose an idea, and create.  These steps help me with creativity because it gives me a stronger structure for my project. A project I am most proud of was my 9th-grade biology project. I say this because we made a biome out of a shoe box, and I had lots of creative ideas that I personally liked. Prompt: After two weeks of studying rhetorical devices, types of rhetoric, and methods for identifying rhetorical techniques, which rhetorical device do you find most effective or compelling, and why?

 The rhetorical device that is most compelling to me is an understatement. I say this because I can use it in my everyday life. It is the one rhetorical device that I use almost every day. It is helpful when I am writing or speaking. This rhetorical device has connected with me more than all the other ones. In summary, an understatement is the most compelling to me because I can use it easily in my everyday life. Summary: Today in class, I took a quiz. Reflection: Today in class, I learned more about rhetorical devices and took a quiz on it.

Prompt: Choose a vocabulary word that resonates with you personally. Write a blog post explaining why this word is significant to you, including any personal memories or experiences that link you to the word.

 The word cogent is important to me because it means clear and easy to understand. I relate to this word when I explain my ideas in writing. When my thoughts are organized, people understand me better. Cogent reminds me to think carefully before I speak or write. Summary: Today in class, I completed Vocabulary Lesson Seven. Reflection: Today in class, I learned fifteen new vocabulary words.

Prompt: Write about a time you didn’t feel like yourself.

 A time I didn't feel like myself was when I was hanging out with my brother's friends. This was because I was trying my best to be cool. I would lie and say I like their interest even though I didn't. Now, I am more at ease with them and feel a lot more comfortable. Summary: Today in class, I worked on the MLK assignment. Reflection: Today in class, I learned more about literary devices.

Prompt: Reflect on a time when you had to rely on someone else. How did it feel?

 A time I had to rely on someone else was when I was going camping. I had never gone before and was relying on my cousins for help. At first, I felt useless and felt bad that I didn't know anything. Once I started to get the hang of it, it was a lot of fun and have a great time. I would want to go again since I know more of the place now. Summary: Today in class, I read about similes. Reflection: Today in class, I learned about similes.

Prompt: Describe a place where you feel the most at peace and explain why.

 A place where I feel the most peace is my room. I say this because it is a safe space for me. It makes me peaceful because I listen to music, read, and relax in my room. It is where I can get to sleep in my comfortable bed. Without my room, I would not be able to be calm all the time. Summary: Today in class, I read and did exercises on metaphors, similes, and analogies. Reflection: Today in class, I learned about metaphors, similes, and analogies.

Prompt: Describe a time when you took a hiatus from something important. What led to the break, and how did it impact you?

 A time I took a hiatus from something important was baseball. What led to this break was that I was getting tired of it. This was important to me because I have been playing baseball since I was seven years old. It felt good to take a break since I came back playing better. Summary: Today in class, I worked on rhetorical statements.  Reflection: Today in class, I learned what a hiatus is.

Hyperbole: The assignment took me a million years to complete.  Understatement: Today's class wasn't too long. Litote: The assignment today wasn't that bad.  My holiday break was good, although being sick for the first week of the break. I spent time with my family and friends that I love, and had a great time playing games, watching football, and celebrating Christmas and New Year's. I didn't regret any part of this Holiday Break. The first goal I want to achieve this year is to have all A's in the second semester.  This goal is important to me because it will boost my GPA  and help me get into a better college.  To achieve this goal, I will complete all my work on time, ask my teachers questions if I don't understand the subject, and study for all my tests a week in advance. I will also try to review all my subjects to make sure I have a full understanding for the finals in May. My second goal I want to achieve this year is to take the SAT and get above a 1300.   This goal is important to me because I want to get accepted into the University of Georgia, and one requirement is a high SAT score.  To comple...
