Prompt: In the spirit of Valentine’s Day week, describe your idea of a perfect day spent with someone you care about (a friend, family member, or significant person in your life).

My idea of a perfect day would be with my cousins and my brother. It would be a bright and sunny day in the middle of summer. We would go to the zoo and then walk to my cousins house from there. We would then get my uncle to grill us hot dogs while we float in the pool. This is my idea of a perfect day spent because my family is very close but not seen often, when we were younger, this would be our favorite thing to do in the summer. Prompt: What is the best piece of advice of that your parent or guardian has given you? Tell what the advice was and what prompted you to ask the question.

 The best piece of advice that my dad has given me is, if you really want something, wait 2 weeks and if you still want it get it. What prompted me to ask this question was I wanted two things but I could only get one of them. I then wait 2 weeks and ended up not wanting either. It gave me a lesson to spend money wisely.  Summary: Today in class, I read a poem and did questions.  Reflection: Today in class, I learned a new poem and analysed it.

Prompt: What is the most challenging part of working in a group? Discuss a time when a group assignment did not go as well as you planned and how you learned from that experience.

 The most challenging part of working in a group is getting mixed answers. A time a group assignment did not go well was in 9th grade. It did not go well because my group would never show up, so I had to do all of the work and even present it by myself. I learned from this experience by having a better selection of team and work;king on skills to meet at a certain point with mixed answers.  Summary: Today in class, I graded different rhetorical analysis essays.  Reflection: Today in class, I learned what different grades would be on rhetoric essays.

Prompt: What is the most challenging part of writing an essay for you? Is it brainstorming, organizing ideas, writing a strong thesis, or something else? How do you plan to overcome this challenge?

 The most challenging part of writing my essay was brainstorming. This is because it was hard to start the essay, and I had some trouble. Although after I know what to write about, I do well in writing.  I plan to overcome this challenge by using brainstorming techniques.  Summary: Today in class, I finished my body paragraph. Reflection: Today in class, I learned how to connect rhetorical devices/strategies about MLK.

Prompt: Describe a real moment in your life that felt like the beginning of a powerful story. Tell what happened, and why it felt like a turning point in your life?

 A real moment in my life that felt like the beginning of a powerful story was when I finished 8th grade. I say this because I realized I would be taking the next3 step and going to high school. It felt like a turning point in my life because I felt like I needed to start being mature and responsible.  Summary: Today in class, I wrote a claim from the MLK speech. Reflection: Today in class, I learned how to compose a body paragraph for rhetorical devices/strategies.
