Reflect on a time when you paused to appreciate the beauty of nature, much like the speaker in “Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening.” Where were you, what did you notice, and how did that moment of stillness make you feel or change your perspective?

One time I stopped to enjoy nature was when I was walking home in the fall. I noticed the leaves falling from the trees and how quiet everything was. The colors were beautiful red, orange, and yellow. I felt calm and happy just standing there for a minute. It made me realize that sometimes it’s good to slow down and enjoy what’s around you.  Summary: Today in class, I did a one-pager on the poem I read. Reflection: Today in class, I learned more vocabulary words.

Prompt: In the poem, the speaker and his neighbor meet each year to repair a wall. Describe a time when you had to set or respect a boundary with a friend, family member, or classmate. How did it help or hurt your connection with that person?

A time I had to set a boundary with a friend was when he would take my food. I wold kindly tell him not to but he still would. I ended up sitting  him down and telling him he should respect my boundaries. H enow understands and asks instead of taking my food. Summary: Today in class, I did a common lit assignment. Reflection: Today in class, Iearned more about Frosts poems.

Prompt: Both poems by Robert Frost explore the passage of time and life’s changing moments. Write about a time when something in your life changed more quickly than you expected. How does this experience connect to Frost’s idea that “Nothing gold can stay”?

A time something changed more quickly than I expected is high school. I say this because I am already halfway through my graduation and the time has felt incredibly quick. It makes me want to go back to my freshman year and relive it. This experience connects to the poem because things change quickly than expected. Summary: Today in class, I read two poems and analyzed them. Reflection: Today in class, I learned new vocabulary terms in a poem.

Prompt: As we think about our upcoming Vocabulary Monday, tell me what is your favorite word RIGHT NOW? Why is it your faovorite word and how often do you use it?

My favorite word right now is obscene. I use it more than once a day. It is my favorite word because if something crazy happens, it is the perfect word to use. My friends get very confused when I say it, but I personally like it. I will be using the word for a long time. Summary: Today in class, I worked on my PowerPoint on childhood. Reflection: Today in class, I learned how to connect the poem to my own childhood.

In “Birches,” Robert Frost celebrates imagination as a way to escape life’s difficulties and reconnect with innocence. The speaker wishes to “get away from earth awhile” but also understands that he must eventually return to reality. Think about the role of imagination in your own life. How does imagination help you cope with challenges, boredom, or stress?

Imagination helps me deal with stress and challenges by giving me a break from reality. When I’m feeling overwhelmed or bored, I like to daydream or picture myself somewhere calm and peaceful. It helps me relax and think more clearly. Using my imagination also makes me more creative and gives me new ways to handle problems. Like in “Birches” by Robert Frost, imagination lets me “get away from earth awhile,” but it also reminds me that I have to come back and face real life. Summary: Today in class, I read another poem and started a presentation. Reflection: Today in class, I learned more about childhood.

After reading “Out, Out—” by Robert Frost, reflect on a time when you faced a dangerous or high-pressure situation that demanded your complete focus. What made the situation risky, and how did your concentration affect the outcome?

A time I faced a high-pressure situation was when I had only 10 minutes left on my final last year. The final was for literature, and I was blanking.  I had to use all my thinking and studying skills to find one answer. I ended up barely completing it on time. Summary: Today in class, I analyzed a new poem. Reflection: Today in class, I learned new words in this new poem.

How was your fall break?

My fall break was laid back and calm. On the first day of fall break, I went to the moutains in Blue Ridge. I was with all my friends and had a really good time. There were plenty of horses and chickens there. After Blue Ridge, I just stayed home and watch the football games. Overall it was a nice reset from school.  Summary: Today in class, I worked on the vocabulary comic strip. Reflection: Today in class, I learned new vocabulary terms.

A time someone's words had a lasting impact on me was when a random person told me. When I was walking on the street, I decided to go into a clothing store. I told the worker that I was interested, but the price was too much. The worker said that my outfit was terrible. This made me lose some self-esteem, although it was just a random person. This made me start buying better clothes. Summary: Today in class, I did a worksheet on claim and evidence. Reflection: Today in class, I learned how to spot an error in claims and evidence.

A moment I had to step out of my comfort zone was when I had to do a toast for mt family. I don't like to do public speaking that much. In conclusion, I would not do it again, but it did make me step out of my comfort zone, which is not a bad thing. Summary: Today in class, I read a story and did a claim, evidence, and reading.  A dream that felt real was just the other day. I had just gotten done with school and was in need to go to sleep. When I went to sleep, I had a weird dream.
